How many female DC superheroes are there in a movie other than catwomen?

There are so many in marvel it’s ridiculous

Who are you counting for Marvel again?

(also Marvel has way more side characters than DC but let’s ignore…

"no one wants to see them for the 100th time"

Pretty sure this movie is gonna make a billion or more.

Didn’t make billion last time

Side characters or not Marvel at least gives us more than women that are just love interests for the hero (and oh wait, catwoman ended up being a love interest anyway). Peggy Carter, yes a love interests, but a kick ass lady that not only has a significant military position, but becomes a founding member of SHIELD and is getting her own tv show, may I remind you. Natasha Romanoff, possible love interest of Clint Barton (but not 100% mcu canon yet?), is an assassin that kill someone with a ball point pen a hundred different ways that took on the hulk and closed the portal down herself in avengers. Pepper Potts, girlfriend of Tony Stark that helped take down all of the Iron Man baddies and is CEO of huge business (which is rare enough in real life). Maria Hill, love interest of no one, and second in command of one of the worlds top secret spy/information agency. Lets not forget Sharon Carter, Melinda May, Skye, and Jemma Simmons, and many of the female character that aren’t a part of MCU that are all badasses and heroes in their own right. DC FINALLY just added Wonder Woman to add to the roster, I think that says something.

Whitebread Avengers? One, a proper counter argument disproves the premise of the first argument, so way to fail there because this was in no way related to avengersonna’s original argument at all. But, two, yes marvel does need to diversify the avengers and hopefully will do so in their future movies. In the comics there have been several PoC characters and hopefully marvel will introduce and build upon those characters, but Marvel is heading in the right direction.  And the DC movies are pretty whitewashed too aren’t they?

And homophobia metaphor analogy ft no non-straight characters known as the X-Men? Well that’s a double negative so I’m a little confused as to what exactly you are trying to say.  I’m assuming your talking about the fact that there aren’t any gay X-Men yet the analogy is all about gay rights? Well one, Northstar was an X-Men that is in fact gay, and was one of the first comic book super heroes to be so, and Wolverine was bisexual in an alternate universe so yeah. Two, the whole analogy of the X-Men isn’t just about homophobia, it’s about the mistreatment of people who aren’t considered normal by societies standards, whether they are gay, PoC, mentally or physically handicapped. So idk what the heck kind of a point you are trying to make there.

PS. All the DC movies made in the history of movies total grossed $3,311,573,872 with an average of $132,462,955 per movie (x). All of the Marvel movies in the history of movies grossed a total of $6,471,789,759 with an average of $190,346,758 per movie (x). If my math is correct, Marvel makes more dough and will probably keep doing so. :)

Why In the Flesh should be saved:

  • Its portrayal of discrimination is one of the most realistic I’ve ever seen in a piece of media (specifically when it comes to homophobia & mental illness)
  • Even when dealing with such serious subject matter it manages to strike a balance between tragedy and comedy so it’s not a continuous bombardment of depression & darkness
  • Several well written female characters. This seems like a baseline requirement for any show but it’s ridiculous how many shows and movies never achieve this. But on itf we have Amy; who is given her own narrative that doesn’t revolve around the main character, Jem; who we clearly see struggle with PTSD but is never seen as weak because of this, Maxine Martin; who could have been portrayed as 100% evil with no redeeming characteristics, but instead is a charismatic, complex woman who won’t let anything get in the way of her achieving her goals, and several other characters with memorable personalities.
  • A main character who is queer. LGBTQ+ representation is increasing in the media but all too often these characters are merely token secondary/minor characters or their entire character revolves around their sexual orientation. This is not the case with this show!
  • There is too much that can be covered in this show and so many questions that need answered for it to be cancelled now. It’s done so much good with just a mere nine episodes, think how far it could go with double that amount (or even more). We could discover more about the lives of other undead people, the changing opinions of the public, watch Simon & Kieren’s relationship evolve, FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON WITH AMY DYER.
  • BASICALLY I’LL PROBABLY GO MAD IF I NEVER FIND ANY OF THIS OUT. THERE IS JUST TOO MUCH POTENTIAL IN THIS SHOW AND IT WOULD BE TRAGIC IF IT WERE WASTED.
